The company seeks a Bioprocess Engineer (DSP) for its Visp site to lead GMP manufacturing activities, drive continuous improvement, and support projects from tech transfer through clinical production. This onsite role requires strong leadership, fluency in German and English, and a background in biotechnology or chemical engineering.
This position sits within the manufacturing team and is dedicated to overseeing GMP production processes. The engineer will guide projects from technology transfer through clinical production phases. The role is primarily based on site to enable close, real-time collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Plan, oversee, and record manufacturing operations in strict accordance with cGMP standards.
- Serve as a manufacturing specialist within a multidisciplinary team, supporting projects from tech transfer through clinical production.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts across quality, cost, efficiency, and safety using operational excellence methodologies.
- Represent the manufacturing unit during customer audits and site visits.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including QA, MSAT, and Engineering.
- Support knowledge transfer, mentoring, and leadership within the production environment.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and quality standards in all production activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor, Master, or PhD in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teams in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Fluency in German and English.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions and stakeholders.
- Continuous improvement mindset with focus on operational excellence.
- Ability to work in complex, fast-paced project environments.
