Dental Assistant

MedTalent GmbH seeks a Junior Dental Assistant for an onsite role at the University of Zurich. The position involves patient coordination, clinical support, and administrative duties within an interdisciplinary research team.

This position is based within the Clinic for Dysfunction of the Jaw Joint and Dental Materials Science at the University of Zurich. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of 23 members, supporting both clinical operations and academic activities.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and guide them through the clinic.
• Manage incoming calls and written correspondence in German and English.
• Coordinate appointment schedules, confirmations, and recall systems.
• Update and maintain patient medical records.
• Set up treatment areas and ensure strict hygiene standards are met.
• Order and inventory necessary supplies.
• Draft and format medical reports.
• Issue prescriptions and referrals as needed.
• Communicate with referring physicians and insurance providers.
• Assist with basic accounting tasks.
• Manage electronic scheduling systems.
• Monitor and enforce hygiene protocols.
• Document adherence to quality standards and participate in internal quality processes.
• Provide guidance and support to students during clinical courses.

Requirements

• Completed vocational training as a dental assistant with relevant practical experience.
• Proficient communication skills in both German and English.
• Demonstrated reliability, independence, and responsibility.
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination abilities.
• Prior experience in scheduling and patient care.
• Ability to work well within a team while maintaining a professional and friendly attitude.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of additional languages beyond German and English.
