Michael Page seeks a Director of Development and Donor Engagement in Geneva to establish a strategic fundraising function for a leading international affairs institute ahead of its 2027 centenary.

The Institute is launching a significant new phase to reinforce its long-term philanthropic model and broaden its influence as it nears its centenary in 2027. This position exists to construct a strategic development office from scratch, ensuring robust donor engagement and securing transformative support to sustain the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a multi-year fundraising strategy that aligns with the Institute's core mission.
  • Establish and professionalize the Development Office, including governance, reporting, and stewardship processes.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, alumni, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Spearhead a flagship endowment initiative to secure substantial philanthropic contributions.
  • Collaborate with the President, senior leadership, and faculty to advance fundraising goals.
  • Utilize the upcoming centenary celebrations to drive donor engagement and growth.
  • Implement CRM-driven donor management practices and define key performance indicators.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years in development, fundraising, or strategic donor relations.
  • Track record of securing significant gifts from major donors, corporations, or foundations.
  • Experience in building or transforming fundraising teams and processes.
  • Fluent proficiency in English.

Nice to have

  • Background in higher education, international organizations, or mission-driven institutions.
  • Strong French language skills.
