Lonza seeks a Manufacturing Line Specialist in Visp, Switzerland, to oversee therapeutic protein production in a large-scale facility. The role involves equipment coordination, troubleshooting, and team training within a global bioprocessing environment.
This position is responsible for the commercial manufacturing of therapeutic proteins within a multipurpose, large-scale mammalian facility. The specialist works as part of a globally connected network spanning over 30 sites across five continents, ensuring production runs meet quality and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage the upkeep and calibration of advanced machinery, acting as the primary contact for any technical issues.
- Work alongside Bioprocess Engineers to diagnose and resolve equipment problems efficiently.
- Verify that all personnel assigned to specific projects or machinery possess adequate training in cGMP, HSE protocols, hygiene standards, and technical skills.
- Facilitate product manufacturing by conducting risk assessments, suggesting equipment upgrades, performing technical improvements, and managing routine technical duties.
- Champion the One-Lonza cultural vision by embracing change, proposing innovative ideas, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Hold a completed apprenticeship as a biotechnological, pharmaceutical, or chemical technologist, or possess a B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in a technical or scientific discipline, accompanied by practical experience in large-scale biotechnological plants.
- Exhibit strong organizational capabilities, flexibility, teamwork skills, and a dedicated work ethic.
- Demonstrate full professional proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing.
