Miterzieherin

The International School of Schaffhausen seeks a mid-level Miterzieherin for its English/German-speaking childcare centre, supporting children aged 4 months to 3 years in a diverse, international environment.

This position supports the International School Childcare Centre (ISCC), which provides care for roughly 42 toddlers and infants between four months and three years old. The role operates within an English-speaking, German-speaking, and international setting, contributing to a modern educational community that values diversity and collaborative learning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily care, supervision, and developmental support of children aged four months to three years.
• Design, execute, and assess educational activities that promote meaningful learning experiences.
• Collaborate effectively with parents, colleagues, and management to ensure consistent care standards.
• Organize and lead orientation sessions for new children and conduct developmental review meetings with families.
• Provide professional mentorship and guidance to apprentices and interns within the childcare team.

Requirements

• Hold a completed qualification as an educator (Erzieherin/Miterzieherin) or an equivalent internationally recognized credential.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in English, or possess German as a primary or advanced-level language.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal communication abilities and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Display empathy, warmth, dependability, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
• Maintain a motivated, organized, and adaptable working style.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in a group leadership capacity is advantageous.
