SAP Application Manager (m/f)

BROMsolutions AG Biel seeks a mid-level SAP Application Manager to oversee SAP operations in a regulated, international environment. The role involves managing system changes, releases, and compliance, with a focus on stability and S/4HANA readiness.

The SAP Application Manager is responsible for maintaining the stability and reliability of the SAP application landscape, supporting ongoing S/4HANA transformation, and ensuring operational continuity in a regulated, global setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate SAP operations with internal experts, business units, and external service providers, serving as the main contact for operational issues and incidents.
• Plan and manage system releases, updates, maintenance windows, and downtimes to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Maintain compliance with SAP documentation standards using the SAP Enterprise Portal and SharePoint.
• Oversee SAP system changes and transport activities through SAP Solution Manager, supporting the transition to new change and transport tools.
• Schedule and control transports to production systems, ensuring changes are compliant and traceable.
• Manage both standard and emergency changes, including occasional evening imports to reduce business impact.
• Perform initial analysis of transport and change issues and escalate when necessary.
• Maintain and align test documentation, coordinating test planning and execution with project managers and stakeholders.
• Help improve change, release, and transport processes continuously.
• Support audit-related SAP topics and documentation with internal teams, external auditors, and service partners.
• Handle security-related tasks, including emergency access approvals and critical authorizations, following internal policies.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in SAP application operations, support, or governance, ideally within a regulated or international organization focused on run operations.
• Strong knowledge of SAP Solution Manager and SAP change and transport processes, including governed changes and daily transport coordination.
• Proven ability to work with external SAP service providers in distributed, international settings, acting as a coordination and escalation point.
• Practical experience in supporting audit and compliance in SAP environments, including documentation and audit readiness.
• Good understanding of SAP security, including emergency access, critical authorizations, and handling Security Notes.
• Experience in IT operations or IT service management, balancing stability with controlled change.
• Strong coordination and communication skills, able to work effectively across teams, locations, and organizational boundaries.
• Fluent in English

• Experience in SAP Enterprise Portal administration
• German language skills
