Senior Financial Accountant

Rocken® seeks a Senior Financial Accountant in Zürich to manage IFRS and local closing processes, support the Finance Director, and optimize accounting workflows for international infrastructure projects.

This position serves as a key financial partner within an international infrastructure and engineering firm based in Zurich. The successful candidate will operate independently to oversee monthly and annual financial closings, manage core accounting operations, and provide strategic support to the Finance Director on complex international accounting matters.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly and annual financial closings in compliance with IFRS and local standards.
• Manage general ledger operations, including the handling of debtors and creditors.
• Process invoices, bank payments, and daily business transactions.
• Perform regular reconciliations for accounts, open items, and trade balances.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with broader tax reporting duties.
• Collaborate with external auditors and contribute to the internal control framework.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting procedures and advise international entities on financial issues.

Requirements

• Completed commercial education with specialized training in finance or accounting.
• Minimum of ten years of hands-on experience in financial accounting roles.
• Strong command of Swiss GAAP, IFRS, and the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR).
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Fluent command of the English language for professional communication.

Nice to have

• Prior experience working with Oracle NetSuite.
• Ability to communicate in German.
