Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Lombardi SA seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Giubiasco to lead complex soil and rock design projects, supervise teams, and ensure technical excellence.

This position focuses on the design, planning, and oversight of geotechnical engineering solutions for intricate projects. The successful candidate will provide both technical and organizational leadership, guiding project teams through complex deliverables while ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee geotechnical engineering strategies for soil and rock structures within complex project scopes.
• Manage geotechnical investigation campaigns, including the interpretation of test results, monitoring data, and technical information to support decision-making.
• Assess geotechnical risks and conduct thorough reviews of studies and engineering designs.
• Draft technical reports, define project deliverables, and guarantee adherence to quality standards and timelines.
• Conduct site visits, collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal departments, and propose efficient, innovative solutions to specific challenges.
• Provide technical and organizational leadership, including coaching and supervising project teams to deliver specialized packages for complex assignments.

Requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in geotechnics.
• At least 15 years of professional experience in geotechnical design.
• Proficiency in English.
• Working knowledge of Italian.

• Background in engineering or consulting, particularly involving large-scale projects.
• Experience in preparing technical-economic proposals.
