Wordpress Developer - Frontend Design - Freelancer

S. Media GmbH seeks a mid-level WordPress Developer for a remote contractor role. The position focuses on frontend design, template customization, and WooCommerce setup, requiring fluent German and at least three years of experience.

This position offers a long-term partnership with direct interaction between the developer, the technical team, and end clients. The successful candidate will handle frontend design tasks and site development while maintaining clear communication channels in German.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building the frontend for WordPress websites
• Customizing existing templates to meet specific project needs
• Building complete WordPress sites from scratch or based on provided designs
• Configuring WooCommerce products, including variants and settings
• Adjusting designs, templates, and third-party add-ons as required
• Managing content updates and image uploads via FTP for WordPress, Typo3, and e-commerce platforms
• Editing and modifying HTML and CSS templates
• Installing and adapting HTML templates into live sites
• Ensuring all HTML output is responsive and standards-compliant
• Developing custom extensions and plugins

Requirements

• Fluent proficiency in German for both speaking and reading
• Ability to communicate directly with customers via email, phone, or Skype in German
• Minimum of three years of professional experience with WordPress and frontend development
