Associate Enterprise Data Architect

Swisscom seeks an Associate Enterprise Data Architect in Zürich to design enterprise-wide data models and AI solutions. This junior role blends technical architecture with strategic business impact.

This position allows you to join Swisscom’s Data Architecture team, working closely with seasoned architects and business leaders. The role offers a perspective that extends beyond single-application development, focusing on enterprise-wide data models and architectural principles. You will translate advanced concepts in data architecture and AI into practical solutions that deliver measurable results within a complex technology landscape.

Responsibilities

• Support the creation of enterprise-wide data models, API structures, and governance frameworks.
• Participate in strategic technology decisions that influence data strategy, AI integration, and digital transformation.
• Build tools, reference implementations, templates, and reusable artifacts to help engineering teams adopt established standards.
• Design foundational elements that enable innovative products, intelligent automation, and data-driven capabilities at scale.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field, completed within the last three years or expected within the next six months.
• Practical experience with modern AI-based development, agentic systems, data modeling, and software architecture principles.
• Strong collaborative skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across teams and organizational boundaries.
• The ability to look beyond coding to understand the broader business, architectural, and strategic implications of technology decisions.
• Clear communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to prepare structured material for different audiences.
• Basic knowledge of data governance and enterprise architecture with the ability to apply methodologies pragmatically.
