CNC Operator

Pyrotek SA seeks a Junior CNC Operator to set up and run machining equipment, ensuring parts meet strict quality and safety standards in an on-site role.

As a global leader in high-temperature materials, Pyrotek SA requires a skilled operator to produce machined components. This position focuses on the setup and operation of CNC machinery while strictly adhering to established safety protocols and quality benchmarks.

Responsibilities

• Analyze work orders, engineering drawings, and material specifications to plan machining tasks.
• Apply geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) using fundamental math and geometry to verify part accuracy.
• Install and calibrate machine components such as chucks, tools, collets, gears, and stops.
• Execute drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, and threading operations while monitoring for defects and adjusting controls as needed.
• Maintain auxiliary equipment including conventional mills, drill presses, and band saws.
• Guide and instruct CNC Operator Assistants on operational and inspection procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot issues, and report repair needs.
• Document production and quality data to ensure seamless handovers between shifts.
• Keep the workstation clean, organized, and safe at all times.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED combined with at least one year of experience as a CNC Operator Assistant, or equivalent training.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
• Solid knowledge of machine setup, tooling, and blueprint reading.
• Competence in using hoists, power tools, and dimensional measuring instruments.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) automated systems and the PWS platform.
• Capability to write or interpret G-code and conversational programming.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse team members.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and walk.
• Capacity to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.
