Data Center Technician , Data Center Operations (DCO)

Amazon Switzerland seeks a Mid-level Data Center Technician to support AWS global infrastructure operations, ensuring reliable server and network performance for continuous customer access.

This position is part of the team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS's global infrastructure. The role focuses on supporting all AWS data centers and equipment to guarantee that customers maintain uninterrupted access to services.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and sustain Linux-based server systems, prioritizing reliability and scalability.
• Conduct thorough system monitoring, diagnostic testing, and performance tuning.
• Set up and oversee network hardware such as switches, routers, and intricate cabling setups.
• Create and upkeep effective backup and disaster recovery plans.
• Work closely with various teams to ensure smooth technological integration.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Practical experience in troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with managing tasks and priorities via a ticketing system.
• Knowledge of best practices and methodologies for cabling infrastructure.
• Prior experience in a data center setting, including racking and stacking equipment, cable management, and handling hot/cold aisle containment.
