Amazon Switzerland seeks a Junior Engineering Operations Technician for its on-site data center team in Switzerland. This role focuses on maintaining electrical and mechanical infrastructure to ensure global cloud reliability.

This position acts as the technical guardian for data center operations, working directly with the electrical and mechanical systems that power cloud infrastructure. The role is critical for maintaining the reliability and performance of global infrastructure, ensuring that the backbone of cloud technology supports millions of users efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to strict safety protocols and foster a strong safety culture by collaborating with other teams to identify and fix potential risks.
• Perform daily operational checks and routine rounds on key equipment, including UPS systems, switchgear, circuit breakers, automatic transfer switches, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC units, exhaust fans, variable frequency drives, and transformers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues within defined service level agreements, using electrical and mechanical expertise to restore systems to optimal performance.
• Oversee contractors conducting servicing and preventive maintenance on critical facility equipment, ensuring all work meets required standards and timelines.
• Enhance the overall reliability and efficiency of data center operations by closely monitoring equipment performance and addressing facility needs.
