Rebootmonkey seeks a mid-level Data Center Technician in Zürich for onsite freelance work. The role involves maintaining critical infrastructure, handling server and network equipment, and ensuring operational reliability.

The company is looking for a professional to support critical infrastructure within world-class data center facilities. This position focuses on keeping essential systems running smoothly through hands-on technical work and proactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and upkeep server and network hardware
• Handle structured cabling tasks using both copper and fiber optic materials
• Carry out hardware installations and decommissioning procedures
• Keep an eye on environmental controls such as power, cooling, and security systems
• Address incidents promptly and conduct troubleshooting
• Ensure documentation and asset tracking records are precise and up to date
• Work closely with engineering and operations departments
• Take part in planning capacity and executing system upgrades

Requirements

• Prior experience in data center or IT infrastructure environments
• Solid understanding of server hardware and networking principles
• Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and clear communication skills
• Living close to the local data center locations
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call or emergency shifts
