Department Lead Electricity & ICT

Pfadibewegung Schweiz seeks a volunteer Department Lead for Electricity & ICT to manage power and communication infrastructure for large-scale international scouting events.

This volunteer position supports the Division Logistic by ensuring reliable electrical supply and communication systems, including WLAN and radio networks, on camp sites. The role is essential for facilitating a safe and connected experience for roughly 5,000 participants and 1,000 helpers at international scouting gatherings.

Responsibilities

• Manage the electrical power supply and communication infrastructure, such as WLAN, mobile radio, and radio systems, at camp locations.
• Participate in monthly coordination meetings with Division Leads.
• Work closely with the Co-Department Lead and the operational crew to execute plans.
• Maintain communication with international contacts to support event logistics.
• Dedicate approximately four hours per week to this voluntary role.

Requirements

• Demonstrate a strong desire to design and implement technical solutions.
• Possess professional or relevant experience in electrical planning or ICT.
• Show the ability to maintain a clear overview of complex projects.
• Commit time and enthusiasm for a multi-year engagement.
• Have good English proficiency or fluency in another national language.
