The Pfadibewegung Schweiz seeks a Senior IT Lead to direct the digital strategy and infrastructure for Roverway 2028, a major international scouting event.
This volunteer position is pivotal for the success of Roverway 2028, ensuring that all digital tools and systems operate seamlessly. The lead will oversee the technical backbone of the event, coordinating with international teams to deliver a robust digital experience for thousands of participants.
Responsibilities
- Lead, recruit, and manage a diverse IT team to execute the event's technical goals.
- Formulate and execute the comprehensive IT strategy for the camp.
- Design, deploy, and maintain on-site network, WLAN, and hardware infrastructure.
- Oversee the camp website, mobile application, and registration platform, including payment integration.
- Manage user access, IT support requests, and hardware logistics.
- Organize training and onboarding sessions for various software tools.
- Structure internal collaboration platforms, including SharePoint and communication channels.
- Ensure full compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations across all systems.
- Establish cybersecurity protocols and business continuity plans.
- Develop and control the IT budget.
- Coordinate technical requirements with other event divisions.
- Document IT architecture and processes to facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Operationalize all necessary digital tools for the camp.
Requirements
- Proven professional expertise and solid experience in IT.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, WLAN, hardware, cloud services, and security.
- Ability to anticipate future needs and design scalable, robust architectures.
- Excellent communication skills to explain IT concepts clearly and conduct effective training.
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership and recruitment.
- Fluency in English and at least one Swiss national language (French, German, or Italian).
Nice to have
- Prior experience leading IT projects for large-scale events.
- In-depth knowledge of GDPR and data protection standards.
