Director, VCEx Innovation & Digital Intelligence

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Director for VCEx Innovation & Digital Intelligence in Zug, CH. This senior techno-functional role leads digital strategy and supply chain transformation within the Innovative Medicine Supply Chain.

This position acts as a key techno-functional leader within the Innovative Medicine Supply Chain (IMSC). The incumbent is responsible for defining and scaling enterprise digital capabilities, specifically focusing on the Digital Value Chain and One Performance Management frameworks. The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, guiding a small direct team while influencing a broader network of approximately 20 professionals across product, analytics, and transformation disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Define the strategic vision, roadmap, and overall direction for digital capabilities within Value Chain Management.
• Manage the full lifecycle of digital products and programs, from initial discovery through deployment and scaling.
• Direct the delivery of the One Digital Value Chain by combining planning, modeling, and decision-support tools.
• Architect and expand network design decision support systems, including the creation of a comprehensive supply chain design data repository.
• Oversee One Performance Management, ensuring operational metrics are effectively linked to strategic business outcomes through tiered management structures.
• Provide direct leadership in demand, supply, and production planning, as well as inventory strategy and distribution.
• Promote modern data, analytics, and engineering standards, leveraging Python and SQL to drive automation and analytical insights.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and lead large-scale change management initiatives to secure sponsorship and drive adoption.
• Foster talent development and communities of practice, coaching a high-performing team of 3–4 direct reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Background in supply chain, operations, or digital transformation with a history of progressive leadership.
• Demonstrated experience as a product owner for enterprise supply chain solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain networks.
• Proven ability to integrate and operate planning systems and end-to-end supply chain platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Python for analytics and automation tasks.
• Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and leading change in complex, matrixed environments.
• Experience in people leadership, including developing and coaching team members.
• Solid financial acumen, with the ability to align digital investments with business value and manage budgets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, MBA, or specialized degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Experience with SQL.
• Familiarity with major planning systems and system integrations.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and APIs.
• Practical experience in demand or supply planning.
