Graduate Trainee: Commercial & Legal

Stadlerrail offers an 18-month graduate trainee position in Liverpool, CH, providing administrative support to the Commercial and Legal department for recent graduates entering the UK rail sector.

This fixed-term role is designed for a recent graduate to begin their career within the UK rail industry. The position serves as the primary contact for routine commercial and legal inquiries while delivering efficient administrative assistance to the Commercial and Legal Function.

Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative tasks for the Commercial & Legal team, including recording minutes, tracking actions, and managing follow-ups.
  • Draft and review commercial summaries, correspondence, and documents related to client and supplier contracts.
  • Prepare reports, briefing notes, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead self-contained projects or contribute to larger initiatives to help achieve organizational goals.
  • Collect data to support commercial and legal matters, such as personal injury claims and GDPR compliance.
  • Collaborate with wider support functions and Commercial & Legal Business Partners on various projects.
  • Promote commercial awareness throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a business environment handling a diverse workload.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proven skill in preparing high-quality reports and documentation.
  • A collaborative team player with drive, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge and experience in legal matters.
  • Experience working with commercial contracts.
  • Basic project management skills, with the ability to lead small to medium-sized projects.
  • Previous experience in the rail industry is welcomed but not mandatory.
