HGV Class 2 driver

Debrunner Koenig Group seeks an experienced HGV Class 2 driver for its Exeter site to transport goods to ASD client locations while ensuring safety and compliance.

This position is based at the Exeter facility and focuses on the secure transportation of products to and from ASD client sites. The driver is responsible for maintaining high safety standards, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting operational efficiency through careful vehicle handling and adherence to traffic regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles safely and efficiently while strictly following road traffic laws.
• Manage the unloading process at customer sites, ensuring goods are handled safely and Proof of Delivery documents are signed and returned.
• Verify load security and weight distribution prior to departure and after every delivery stop.
• Utilize mobile equipment for loading and unloading tasks when necessary and properly trained.
• Adopt fuel-efficient driving techniques to reduce consumption.
• Engage in continuous improvement programs, including TPM and 5S methodologies.
• Maintain the vehicle in a clean and orderly condition.
• Proactively identify and report health and safety risks within the workplace.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks to confirm the truck is roadworthy before use.
• Accurately complete and update all required transport documentation.

Requirements

• Hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC).
• Possess a full HGV license for the appropriate vehicle class and demonstrate strong driving skills.
• Have prior experience in warehousing or distribution sectors.
• Understand and apply Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) protocols in distribution environments.
• Demonstrate the ability to interpret written instructions and maintain precise work records.

• Complete the mandatory 35 hours of DCPC training.
