International Medical Affairs Head, CRM

Novartis seeks a Senior International Medical Affairs Head for CRM to lead medical strategy, launch readiness, and team management for priority global assets.

This senior role provides medical and scientific leadership for the CRM portfolio, focusing on pre-launch preparation, new product launches, and life cycle management. The position reports to the Head of International Medical Affairs and contributes to strategic direction across international teams.

Responsibilities

• Delivers medical and scientific guidance for priority assets and the CRM portfolio's life cycle management.
• Creates and implements innovative launch readiness strategies, including medical education and scientific congress planning.
• Serves as the unified medical voice for regions and key countries during launch planning.
• Contributes international medical affairs insights to evidence generation strategies and implementation plans.
• Integrates medical perspectives from priority countries to shape therapeutic area strategy and launch execution.
• Ensures clinical trial operations meet the specific needs of priority countries.
• Provides medical input for post-approval phases, focusing on evidence solutions that address patient and healthcare system needs.
• Identifies evidence gaps for priority countries to support launch success and improve patient access.
• Establishes relationships with healthcare professionals, patient groups, and professional societies.
• Oversees operational execution, financial tracking, and team performance for medical activities.

Requirements

• Advanced medical degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD).
• Over ten years of clinical and medical affairs experience in pharmaceutical companies, with proven functional expertise.
• Background in evidence generation, launch excellence, scientific engagement, clinical trials, and compliance.
• Experience as a country head with profit and loss responsibility is preferred.
• Global or multi-country experience is desirable.
• Ability to build credibility, collaborate, and influence stakeholders in a matrix organization.
• Capacity to represent Novartis Medical Affairs externally with global key opinion leaders and medical societies.
• Combines operational excellence with innovation and a strategic mindset.
• Proven track record of building, leading, and supporting high-performing teams.

Nice to have

• Clinical experience spanning research and medical affairs.
• Experience in the CRM therapeutic area with a proven record in launch medical.
