iOS Software Engineer

The iOS Software Engineer at Bjak is responsible for crafting the core mobile experience, ensuring that AI interactions feel natural, responsive, and reliable. This position goes beyond simple API integration; it involves building a robust, production-ready application where AI capabilities are central to the user journey. Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain iOS applications leveraging Swift and SwiftUI.
• Implement AI-driven functionalities by connecting with backend services.
• Create user experience frameworks for AI interactions, handling scenarios like loading indicators, streaming data, error recovery, and fallback mechanisms.
• Enhance application performance, reduce memory consumption, and improve battery life.
• Gather user data and feedback to aid in AI model assessment and continuous improvement.
• Work alongside backend and machine learning specialists to define API structures and system behaviors.
• Ensure the application meets high standards for App Store submission, stability, and operational reliability.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of professional iOS development using Swift.
• Proven experience incorporating AI features into mobile applications.
• Deep knowledge of asynchronous programming, concurrency models, and background task management.
• Expertise in optimizing iOS applications for performance and memory efficiency.
• Track record of launching and maintaining live iOS applications.
• Ability to design interfaces that handle latency, partial failures, and unpredictable AI outputs.

Nice to have

• Experience with CoreML or lightweight machine learning models running on-device.
• Knowledge of feature flagging tools or remote configuration platforms.
• Strong sense of AI user experience design and strategies to build user confidence.
