The company is seeking a Senior IT Security Architect in Zürich to design security concepts, ensure compliance, and advise development teams on secure design practices.
This position sits within a cross-functional digital product team at Merkle, an integrated experience consultancy known for its data science heritage and focus on business performance. The role exists to embed security into the core of digital product development and architecture.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the overall security concept for systems.
- Define security architecture, standards, and guidelines.
- Integrate security requirements into architecture, design, and development processes.
- Conduct risk analyses, threat modeling, and security assessments.
- Monitor the implementation of security measures.
- Consult with development, architecture, testing, and operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Support security tests, reviews, and audits.
- Collaborate with internal security, risk, and compliance units.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in IT security or security architecture.
- Solid knowledge of security concepts for complex IT systems.
- Experience in security-critical and regulated environments (e-banking advantageous).
- Very good knowledge of authentication, authorization, encryption and secure design.
- Understanding of modern software architectures (frontend, backend, APIs, cloud).
- Experience with security standards and frameworks.
