Junior Project Officer Cybersecurity (Europe Asia)

DCAF seeks a Junior Project Officer for its Cybersecurity programme in Genève. The role supports governance capacity building in Southeast and Eastern Europe, focusing on coordination, finance, and administration.

This position operates within DCAF’s Cybersecurity programme, specifically under the Europe & Asia division. The officer assists the Senior Manager in implementing cybersecurity governance capacity-building initiatives across Southeast and Eastern Europe, ensuring smooth project execution and administrative oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Manager in coordinating team activities and workflows.
  • Manage administrative and financial project tasks, such as tracking reporting deadlines, following up on contracts, and processing payments.
  • Monitor project budgets and provide financial support to the Senior Manager.
  • Write reports on project activities and prepare materials for disseminating project outcomes.
  • Handle additional administrative and finance duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A university degree in political science, international relations, law, or a related field.
  • Up to three years of professional work experience.
  • Previous experience supporting project management, particularly in administrative and financial processes.
  • Swiss or EU citizenship, or a valid Swiss work permit at the time of application.
  • Fluent written and spoken English skills.

Nice to have

  • Specialized knowledge in security policy, conflict management, or security sector governance.
  • Experience with results-based project management methodologies.
  • Academic background or practical knowledge of the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe, or the South Caucasus, with a focus on security sector reform and cybersecurity.
  • Proficiency in Albanian, Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, or Montenegrin.
