Laboratory Technician QC Biochemistry (all genders)

Lonza seeks a Laboratory Technician for QC Biochemistry in Visp. The role focuses on analytical protein analysis, including ELISA and qPCR, within a global life sciences environment.

This position sits within the Biochemistry team of Lonza’s Quality Control department. The main objective is to conduct analytical protein analysis, with a specific emphasis on biochemical testing methods.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine analytical tests, primarily using ELISA and qPCR techniques, while occasionally performing gel electrophoresis, all in strict adherence to GMP regulations and safety protocols.
• Manage the implementation, validation, and transfer of laboratory methods.
• Handle administrative tasks such as recording results and drafting work instructions.
• Assist with laboratory upkeep, including equipment management and maintaining a clean workspace.
• Collaborate with shift staff and apprentices, and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Possess an apprenticeship as a Laboratory Technician, a BTA qualification, or a BSc in Biology.
• Demonstrate prior experience with ELISA procedures.
• Work independently with a high degree of responsibility and precision.
• Show strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a preference for interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Be fluent in either German or English.

Nice to have

• Experience with qPCR techniques.
• Background in Quality Control and GMP environments.
• A proactive attitude and commitment to a young, dynamic team.
• Proficiency in the other required language (English if fluent in German, or German if fluent in English).
