Logitech seeks a Senior Machine Learning Training Infrastructure Engineer in Lausanne to design scalable ML training systems, optimize HPC workflows, and champion MLOps best practices across teams.
This position focuses on advancing engineering standards within the Machine Learning and EdgeAI divisions by establishing robust training infrastructure and shared DevOps/MLOps practices. The engineer will serve as a liaison between applied ML groups and the Digital Office, creating reusable scaffolding and automation to accelerate model development and deployment.
Responsibilities
- Guide ML engineers in transitioning to shared compute environments and lead infrastructure adoption efforts.
- Provide expert coaching and consulting to ML teams on High Performance Computing (HPC) optimization strategies.
- Develop and maintain standardized project templates that allow engineers to quickly initialize compliant repositories.
- Construct and sustain automated pipelines for data validation, model retraining, and performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with ML engineers to profile and enhance training pipelines and inference code for local or edge devices.
- Serve as the main technical liaison to interpret AWS policies and infrastructure constraints into practical developer workflows.
- Implement and uphold frameworks ensuring ethical AI standards, model transparency, and data privacy compliance.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Over five years of professional experience in MLOps, DevOps, or Software Engineering, with a strong emphasis on developer tooling, automation, and pipeline optimization.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, building, or maintaining large-scale ML training infrastructure.
- Proven ability to mentor teams, establish best practices, and create clear documentation.
- Practical expertise with data versioning, experiment tracking tools, and modern CI/CD platforms.
- Deep proficiency in Python and PyTorch, with experience running training workloads on GPUs/TPUs.
- Strong understanding of containerization (Docker) and packaging models for distribution.
- Solid understanding of cloud concepts (AWS) to effectively collaborate with the Digital Office.
- Strong understanding of profiling, operating systems (OS), caching mechanisms, and hardware (HW) architecture.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts (parallelism strategies, fault tolerance, synchronization).
