Manager EQ - Supplier Quality

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Manager EQ - Supplier Quality in Schaffhausen to oversee supplier quality for the Global Pharma sector, ensuring compliance with J&J policies and regulatory standards.

This position serves as a quality partner for API and DP manufacturing sites within the IMSC portfolio. The role is responsible for the quality and compliance oversight of suppliers, acting as the single aligned voice for supplier quality performance across the J&J enterprise network while ensuring adherence to business, quality, and compliance goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quality and compliance status for assigned suppliers, focusing on medium-critical vendors.
• Support suppliers with change control, deviations, escalations, complaints, specification alignment, and quality agreement updates.
• Lead low-to-medium impact projects originating from EQ or IMSC sites.
• Drive strategic and optimization initiatives to enhance EQ-SQ management processes.
• Manage, coordinate, and coach contractors and indirect reports within the SQ team.
• Plan and execute qualification audits, technical visits, and monitoring audits at external supplier sites.
• Manage changes related to suppliers and external manufacturers.
• Assess deviations, CAPAs, and complaints associated with suppliers.
• Provide necessary data for supplier release or rejection in SAP master data.
• Establish and periodically review J&J quality requirements and quality agreements.
• Coordinate qualification activities for new product introductions.
• Conduct periodic performance measurements and face-to-face meetings with suppliers.
• Support IMSC local sites during customer and health authority inspections.
• Manage supplier specification agreements and approvals.
• Interface with external business partners to improve core process reliability.
• Handle change management, escalations, compliance issues, recalls, and field actions linked to suppliers.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s in Science, Pharmacy, or Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management, production, QC, or R&D within pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven experience managing external manufacturing operations or quality assurance for external manufacturing.
• Familiarity with GMP and ICH regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.
• Excellent analytical skills to identify gaps and root causes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines.
