The company seeks a Manufacturing Specialist for its Visp facility to manage upstream or downstream processing activities in compliance with cGMP standards.
This position is based at the Ibex facility in Visp and focuses on carrying out operational tasks for assigned manufacturing projects. The specialist will handle activities within either the upstream or downstream processing sections, ensuring smooth execution of production goals.
Responsibilities
- Carry out manufacturing tasks in either the upstream or downstream processing sections while adhering to cGMP standards. This includes managing batch execution, analyzing test outcomes, fixing equipment problems, and suggesting solutions.
- Help prepare risk assessments for safety, health, environment, and environmental monitoring for assigned products, and oversee the implementation of necessary measures.
- Assist in creating documentation such as electronic batch records and standard operating procedures tailored to the specific production area.
- Examine production records, address deviations, handle change requests, and implement corrective and preventive actions to maintain high-quality GMP standards.
- Participate in capital investment projects for the construction and commissioning of new manufacturing units, providing necessary inputs for setup, qualification, and equipment commissioning.
- Train manufacturing staff on specific equipment and standard operations.
Requirements
- A completed education or training qualification in chemical or biopharmaceutical fields.
- Strong knowledge of biotechnological processes, particularly in microbial or mammalian cultivation, or protein purification.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Willingness to work in a four-shift system.
Nice to have
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemical Engineering, or related fields.
- Fluency in German is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of GMP is beneficial.
