ALLPS GmbH seeks a Senior Microsoft 365 SharePoint Engineer for a 3-year hybrid contract in Basel. The role focuses on managing SharePoint Server farms, developing SPFx solutions, and optimizing performance, requiring native-level German.
The company is looking for an experienced engineer to support a long-term enterprise project based in Basel. This position is structured as a three-year contract with the potential for extension, focusing on the maintenance, development, and optimization of complex SharePoint environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage the installation, scaling, patching, and overall health of physical multi-server SharePoint Server setups to ensure high performance under load.
- Diagnose architectural bottlenecks by analyzing ULS log chains, IIS application traces, and system performance counters.
- Develop and integrate responsive user interfaces, client extensions, and localized widgets using the SharePoint Framework (SPFx) and PnP patterns.
- Design, deploy, and troubleshoot complex document workflow automations, including routing validations and transactional processing forms.
- Optimize database read/write queries and maintain rapid page-load speeds by analyzing custom farm solutions and server-side code assemblies.
Requirements
- 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in SharePoint administration, farm management, or Microsoft 365 collaboration engineering.
- Proven expertise in installing, configuring, patching, and scaling multi-server SharePoint Server farm environments.
- Solid understanding of SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 collaboration services, and hybrid platform architectures.
- Experience troubleshooting environments using ULS logs, IIS traces, performance counters, and native diagnostic tools.
- Practical experience building or integrating responsive UIs, extensions, and web parts via SPFx and PnP patterns.
- Ability to design, deploy, and debug document workflows, approval processes, routing rules, and automated business forms.
- Strong grasp of performance optimization techniques, including page-load speed, database query behavior, indexing, caching, and custom solution tuning.
- Capability to analyze, refactor, and support custom farm solutions, server-side code assemblies, and legacy components.
- Excellent documentation skills, including maintaining runbooks, configuration guides, technical diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a distributed project team.
- Flawless bilingual or native-level business German proficiency (C1/C2 level) in both written and spoken communication.
- Must hold EU/EFTA nationality or possess an active, valid Swiss permanent residency or work card (C Permit or unrestricted B/G Permit).
