Nature Restoration Officer

The International Union for Conservation of Nature seeks a Nature Restoration Officer in Gland, Switzerland, to support the European Nature Restoration project portfolio and EU Nature Restoration Regulation implementation.

Based at the IUCN European Regional Office in Gland, Switzerland, this position focuses on advancing the European Nature Restoration project portfolio. The role is central to supporting the implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation and overseeing the monitoring of National Restoration Plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing the European Nature Restoration project portfolio, with a specific emphasis on the EU Nature Restoration Regulation and the tracking of National Restoration Plans.
• Guarantee the quality of project planning, execution, and reporting, which involves managing work plans, service contracts, budgets, and donor reports.
• Track project progress to ensure outputs are delivered on schedule and intended outcomes are met.
• Participate in fundraising activities by spotting funding opportunities, communicating with donors, and creating new project concepts.
• Create communication materials and content tailored for both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
• Establish and sustain productive collaborations with IUCN Members, partners, and experts throughout Europe.
• Offer guidance and support to junior team members to promote effective teamwork and capacity development.
• Manage daily project operations, including logistics and the coordination of meetings, workshops, and events.
