The CHUV seeks a Senior Medical Physicist in radio-oncology to oversee dosimetry, treatment planning, and quality control for advanced irradiation facilities in Lausanne.
This role sits within the radiotherapy physics group at the Institute of Radiophysics (IRA). The team is responsible for dosimetry, facility control, treatment planning, and the development of new techniques. The incumbent will support routine operations while managing key projects and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the conversion of the bunker for the new linear accelerator.
- Coordinate with vendors to accept and test the installation of equipment and planning systems.
- Establish and maintain all quality control protocols mandated by law.
- Supervise dosimetry and control procedures for all treatment installations.
- Manage treatment planning and validate the initiation of patient treatments.
- Provide support to the existing team during daily routine activities.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in physics or equivalent academic background.
- Specialized training in medical physics.
- A PhD in a scientific discipline.
- At least five years of experience working with advanced irradiation techniques.
- Strong proficiency with standard computer tools.
- Fluency in both French and English.
- Flexibility to work irregular schedules as required by service needs.
