Ärztekasse seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to lead technical design and implementation of new features using Java and Spring Boot, supporting digitalization efforts in a hybrid role based in Urdorf, CH.
Ärztekasse delivers eHealth solutions and business process outsourcing to help healthcare professionals focus on patient care. This position plays a key role in an ongoing innovation initiative aimed at modernizing and expanding the company's product portfolio through digital transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end technical design for new features and services alongside the Architecture Team and fellow engineers
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts and the Product Owner to refine and estimate use cases
- Develop domain-specific and cross-cutting services
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership to elevate the team's overall engineering capabilities
- Participate in decisions regarding technology selection and tooling for new solutions
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of production backend development experience using Java and Spring Boot
- Deep understanding of software design principles with the ability to clearly articulate architectural opinions
- Ability to thrive in evolving environments, navigate ambiguity, and adapt to shifting requirements
- Strong knowledge of REST API design and distributed systems patterns
- Experience with messaging systems and event-driven architectures
- Proactive communication skills, actively sharing knowledge and contributing to team growth through regular tech sessions
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration, taking full ownership of deployment and end-to-end delivery
