Senior Deviation Specialist

The company seeks a Senior Deviation Specialist in Visp, Switzerland, to manage deviation investigations, ensure cGMP compliance, and drive process improvements within a global life sciences environment.

This position is responsible for the end-to-end management of major and minor deviations, ensuring they are resolved with high quality, accuracy, and within set timelines. The specialist also supports the business by participating in ongoing change management and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned deviations, including investigation, authoring, and recording.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to identify root causes and assess potential impacts.
• Apply systematic investigation tools (e.g., Logic Fault Tree, Defense analysis, Event & Causal Factors chart, Fishbone) to define root causes and contributing factors.
• Define and agree on appropriate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) and associated Effectiveness Checks with SMEs.
• Ensure cGMP compliance and consistency throughout the investigation process and drive quality records to completion and closure according to scheduled release times.
• Support the business through ongoing change and process improvement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree/ Diploma in a Chemistry/Biotechnology/Life sciences or related discipline
• Understanding and application of Human & Organizational Performance principles
• RCA training
• Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
• High adaptability in dynamic work environments
• Effective and efficient time management
• Skillful knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
• Fluency in English

Nice to have

• Ability to plot and read data, statistics basic knowledge is a nice to have
