Lonza seeks a Senior Process Expert for visual inspection in Stein, Switzerland. The role focuses on leading the development and validation of automated inspection processes within a GMP-compliant pharmaceutical environment.
The company is looking for a specialist to lead the creation, qualification, and implementation of automated and semi-automated visual inspection and container closure integrity testing (CCIT) processes. This position requires building operational frameworks from the ground up with minimal supervision, ensuring technical precision through daily on-site collaboration with production teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide scientific guidance to production staff on the shop floor.
- Oversee GMP-compliant qualification and validation of automated visual inspection systems from an operational standpoint.
- Ensure readiness for the operational handover of manual, semi-automated, and fully automated inspection and CCIT procedures.
- Manage safety, regulatory compliance, risk assessments, and standard operating procedures.
- Implement technical enhancements and resolve process-related issues.
- Lead or contribute to change control and deviation investigations, using data analysis to determine failure root causes.
- Act as the representative for Visual Inspection and CCIT during regulatory audits and inspections.
Requirements
- Demonstrated practical experience in pharmaceutical visual inspection for drug products in vials or syringes, covering manual, semi-automated, or fully automated methods.
- Fluency in either English or German.
Nice to have
- Background working with various inspection technologies.
- Understanding of visual inspection machine qualification, product validation, and Container Closure Integrity Testing.
- Bilingual proficiency in both English and German.
- A scientific or engineering degree.
