Lonza seeks a Senior Scientist for Quality Control and Environmental Monitoring in Visp, CH. The role focuses on data evaluation, process improvement, and compliance within a GMP-regulated setting.
This position supports robust environmental monitoring by analyzing complex datasets, refining operational procedures, and ensuring strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice standards. The scientist acts as a key partner to cross-functional teams, contributing to successful inspections and ongoing improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Gather, assess, and consolidate monitoring information utilizing MODA, LIMS, and other digital analysis platforms.
- Record all GMP-related activities and spearhead investigations into any alerts or action level deviations.
- Lead root-cause analysis efforts and coordinate corrective measures with relevant stakeholders.
- Draft, examine, and authorize documents within the Document Management System (DMS) to guarantee precision and regulatory compliance.
- Enhance monitoring workflows to boost data integrity, operational efficiency, and system reliability.
- Execute monitoring updates and handle MODA modifications through the formal change control process.
- Serve as a confident representative for the team during internal audits, external inspections, and client visits.
Requirements
- Possess an academic degree in life sciences or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Demonstrate approximately two years of professional experience within a GMP-regulated industry.
- Exhibit strong digital proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications and various documentation systems.
- Communicate effectively and confidently in English.
Nice to have
- Prior background in environmental monitoring or microbiology.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, pharmacopoeial standards, and EU Annex 1 requirements.
- Ability to speak German.
