Lonza seeks a Senior Scientist for QC HPLC in Visp, CH, focusing on mammalian and mRNA projects within the biologics sector. The role involves method validation, deviation management, and team leadership in a GMP environment.
The company is looking for an experienced professional to join the QC HPLC Mammalian and mRNA team in Visp. This position allows the candidate to engage with dynamic projects in the fast-growing biologics field, contributing to the development and optimization of critical analytical processes.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Lead Investigator for deviations and manage related investigations.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for both project-specific and general laboratory issues.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to junior quality control colleagues.
- Perform analytical reviews and evaluate quality control results.
- Handle technical writing and document reviews, including test methods, analytical procedures, protocols, and reports.
- Ensure quality oversight and audit readiness in GMP-regulated labs, including participation in internal and external audits.
- Support the optimization of laboratory processes and workflows.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma.
- Implement, optimize, transfer, and validate analytical methods, with a primary focus on HPLC, CE, and icIEF.
- Take responsibility for all HPLC-related project tasks and represent the HPLC team within broader project groups.
- Process investigations, change requests, and deviations under cGMP regulations.
- Extract and evaluate analytical data, preparing reports and presentations.
- Prepare, review, and approve documents to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 to 10 years of proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
- Proficiency in English.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with HPLC, CE, or icIEF techniques.
- Familiarity with IT systems such as LIMS and CDS.
- German language skills.
