This role is responsible for developing and evolving Proton’s Windows application, ensuring it delivers a seamless, privacy-focused experience. It covers the entire lifecycle from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and incident response, with a focus on cryptographic operations, state management, and system resilience.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a small team developing a privacy-first Windows application for Proton Drive.
- Create an intuitive application that simplifies end-to-end encryption for users while maintaining strong privacy guarantees.
- Enhance testing and automation to boost team efficiency and delivery speed.
- Break down complex problems into manageable, reusable components and adjust scope as needed to meet goals.
- Maintain high standards for monitoring and alerting to ensure reliability and a smooth user experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience in .NET development.
- Extensive background in building and maintaining desktop Windows applications.
- Strong skills in concurrent, multi-threaded programming.
- Understanding of file system operations.
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
- Track record of owning and maintaining large software components.
- Experience with gradual feature rollouts and monitoring/alerting systems.
