SQL Developer (Middle/Senior)

Amaris seeks a Senior SQL Developer to design, optimize, and maintain T-SQL solutions, SSIS ETL packages, and SSRS reports within a remote, international Agile team.

This position focuses on the end-to-end management of data solutions, including writing efficient T-SQL code, building robust ETL workflows, and delivering actionable business intelligence reports. The successful candidate will ensure data reliability and performance while collaborating closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Write, refine, and optimize T-SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
  • Construct and upkeep SSIS packages to move data from diverse sources into SQL Server environments or data warehouses.
  • Create and manage SSRS reports, such as parameterized, tabular, matrix, and drill-down formats, aligned with business needs.
  • Diagnose and enhance the performance and stability of SQL queries and ETL pipelines.
  • Oversee SQL Server Agent jobs and address any failures in ETL or reporting schedules.
  • Partner with Business Analysts and stakeholders to convert reporting requirements into technical deliverables.
  • Execute database deployments, testing, and production releases in accordance with development best practices.
  • Engage in performance tuning, data validation, and root-cause analysis for database issues.
  • Document database objects, ETL logic, and reporting structures.
  • Adhere to version control and coding standards using Git or Azure DevOps/TFS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of four years of professional experience in SQL Server development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (versions 2019/2022 preferred) and T-SQL programming.
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining SSIS packages.
  • Experience in creating and sustaining SSRS reports.
  • Knowledge of query optimization and performance tuning techniques, including the use of execution plans and SQL Profiler.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server Agent for scheduling and monitoring jobs.
  • Experience with source control tools such as Git or Azure DevOps/TFS.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within an Agile development framework.

Nice to have

  • Prior exposure to Power BI or Azure Data Factory is considered an advantage.
