UX/UI Designer

Threema seeks a Senior UX/UI Designer in Freienbach to lead design direction for secure messaging platforms, requiring fluency in German and English.

Threema develops secure communication tools for both private individuals and enterprises, placing a strong emphasis on user privacy. In this role, you will define the conceptual and visual strategy for key product areas across mobile, desktop, and web interfaces. The position requires balancing intuitive user experiences with the technical constraints inherent in cryptographic systems, ensuring that security features are accessible and widely adopted.

Responsibilities

• Define the visual and conceptual strategy for major product segments across mobile, desktop, and web channels.
• Create intuitive interaction patterns for complex security and cryptographic workflows.
• Conduct user research and discovery processes to address ambiguous product challenges.
• Contribute to the evolution and expansion of the cross-platform design system.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to influence the roadmap and justify design choices.
• Develop user experiences for new technologies, including AI and LLM integrations.

Requirements

• At least five years of professional experience in UX, UI, or Product Design.
• Demonstrated history of delivering complete, multi-platform user experiences.
• A strong personal interest in privacy protection and secure communication technologies.
• Hands-on experience in scaling and maintaining design systems.
• Strong communication skills to explain design decisions to technical teams.
• Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken.

• Background in managing complex digital products, particularly in B2B or SaaS environments.
