Senior UX Designer

Dept Design & Technology AG seeks a Senior UX Designer in Basel to lead discovery, craft user journeys, and collaborate with IT and UI teams on digital products for top brands.

This position is part of the Zurich-based Experience & Engineering division within a Growth Invention company that supports ambitious brands at the intersection of technology and marketing. The role focuses on driving user experience strategy through research, design, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Introduce fresh ideas and cross-industry best practices to project teams.
• Partner closely with the IT department to align design and technical execution.
• Facilitate and lead discovery sessions, using generative methods to identify challenges and opportunities.
• Convert strategy and insights into detailed user journeys, flows, and wireframes.
• Support design decisions with clear annotations.
• Develop basic prototypes and test them with users when necessary.
• Present design work to clients and stakeholders, incorporating feedback effectively.
• Collaborate directly with UI designers to refine the final user experience.

Requirements

• At least five years of UX design experience at an agency or prominent brand.
• Proven track record designing websites, apps, and digital products for A-brands.
• A strong portfolio (website or PDF) showcasing experience and passion.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Working proficiency in English and German.
• Hands-on experience with Figma and collaborative tools.

• Knowledge of SEO practices.
