CERN seeks an Entry Level 3D Integration Engineer for its EN-ACE group in Geneva to coordinate integration activities for the third Long Shutdown (LS3).
This position supports the EN-ACE group by managing integration efforts for the upcoming third Long Shutdown. The engineer will lead multidisciplinary teams to enhance data quality and ensure the successful deployment of advanced systems within a global setting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and track 3D integration studies related to the third Long Shutdown (LS3).
- Work with cross-functional teams on-site to address and solve integration challenges during installation and maintenance.
- Produce and update technical documentation, manage project data in internal systems, and build reporting dashboards.
- Generate, revise, and maintain 3D models using CATIA V5 software.
- Enhance the quality of CAD data within the PDM/PLM system.
- Assist in creating and standardizing 3D integration methods and best practices.
- Check mechanical and magnetic references alongside the Layout and Configuration Management team.
- Organize and report on Integration Committee meetings.
- Manage laser scanning tasks in coordination with survey and scheduling groups.
- Create and upkeep collaborative web spaces to centralize project information.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Systems, or Integration Engineering.
- Experience managing technical data with digital engineering or information management tools.
- Skill in preparing clear technical documents and structuring engineering information.
- Ability to coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Nationality from a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- No more than two years of professional experience since graduation.
- No prior CERN fellow or graduate contract history.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Must hold a university degree; PhDs and applicants without degrees are ineligible.
Nice to have
- Experience with PDM/PLM environments or engineering data management systems.
- Willingness to learn French.
