Academic Managing Director / Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The University of Zurich seeks an Academic Managing Director or Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead research, teach, and develop academic projects in information and communications law.

This position merges academic leadership with active research and teaching duties. The role allows the holder to address complex, societally significant questions while contributing to the university's research output and educational mission.

Responsibilities

• Lead, contribute to, and shape new research initiatives.
• Publish findings in scholarly journals and present results at professional conferences.
• Assist in preparing expert reports and commissioned studies.
• Deliver lectures for both undergraduate and graduate students.
• Develop a Habilitation project to advance academic qualifications.

Requirements

• A top-tier master's degree in law, preferably obtained in Switzerland.
• A distinguished PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification.
• Fluency in both written and spoken German and English.
• Strong capability for independent, efficient, and detail-oriented work.
• A deep interest in information and communications law.
• Enthusiasm for collaborative teamwork on complex legal issues.
• A commitment to interdisciplinary research and cross-field collaboration.
