ZHAW seeks a Research Associate and Lecturer in Environmental and Energy Economics for a 60–80% role in Winterthur, combining academic teaching with independent research.
This position is based within the Center for Energy and the Environment at ZHAW's School of Management and Law. The successful candidate will balance academic instruction with independent scholarly inquiry, contributing to the center's broader mission through both classroom engagement and external research initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Secure external funding and lead or contribute to various research initiatives.
- Conduct studies in environmental economics and publish findings in scientific journals.
- Deliver lectures in economics and environmental topics across Bachelor, Master, and continuing education programs, including supervising student theses.
- Support the Center for Energy and the Environment through public outreach and international partnerships.
Requirements
- A PhD in Environmental Economics or a closely related discipline.
- A strong history of publishing in peer-reviewed international journals.
- Prior experience teaching at a university or higher education level.
- Fluency in English and at least one Swiss national language, with a willingness to learn German.
Nice to have
- Professional background in environmental economics or a similar field.
- Hands-on experience with numerical modeling techniques, such as Computable General Equilibrium models.
