The University of Zurich seeks a Teaching and Research Assistant for a 48-month part-time role focused on empirical psychology research and teaching support in Zürich.
This position is designed to support a cumulative dissertation aligned with the Social Lab's current research interests. At least 70% of the workload is dedicated to dissertation work, offering a four-year opportunity with significant social impact and professional growth potential.
Responsibilities
- Designing and executing survey studies and experiments
- Performing statistical analyses on collected data
- Preparing research findings for peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations
- Teaching one seminar annually
- Supervising Bachelor's and Master's theses
- Handling administrative duties, including exam supervision and team support
- Developing teaching qualifications through relevant courses
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Psychology or a closely related field
- Proven experience in conducting empirical research
- Strong knowledge of research methods and statistical techniques
- Excellent written and oral English proficiency
- High motivation to develop a PhD proposal that fits the Social Lab's focus
- Interest in teaching and a willingness to improve instructional skills
Nice to have
- German language skills or a willingness to learn German
- Programming abilities relevant to simulation and experimentation
- Familiarity with open science practices
- Interest in interdisciplinary reading beyond core disciplinary boundaries
