Senior Research and Teaching Associate for AI, Machine Learning and Digital Transformation (Postdoctoral Position)

The University of Zurich seeks a Senior Research and Teaching Associate for AI, Machine Learning and Digital Transformation. This postdoctoral role involves developing research infrastructure, teaching, and supervising theses.

This postdoctoral position, based in Zurich, spans six years at 80% capacity. The role focuses on advancing empirical analysis of generative AI while supporting academic instruction and research collaboration within the department.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain research infrastructure for empirical analysis of generative AI
• Collaborate with and support other researchers and projects at IKMZ
• Teach one course per semester
• Supervise MA theses
• Handle organizational and administrative tasks within the department

Requirements

• Ph.D. in communication, computational social science, informatics, or a related subject
• Excellent research and teaching record in computational social science, communication or a related subject
• Experience in research organization, ideally also in the development and maintenance of research infrastructure
• Proficiency in German and English
• Organizational and team skills
