The company seeks an Aircraft Technician based in Payerne to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on F/A-18 and future military aircraft. The role requires Swiss citizenship and a technical background to support national security.
This position operates within the service and maintenance division of RUAG. The technician supports the upkeep of aircraft and military systems to help ensure Swiss security. The work focuses on keeping military assets airworthy and ready for duty.
Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled and corrective maintenance tasks for F/A-18 and upcoming military aircraft.
- Conduct inspections, functional tests, and system checks using approved technical manuals.
- Identify and resolve issues across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and avionics components.
- Implement technical upgrades and process change orders.
- Assist with aircraft preparation and return-to-service procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all completed work and maintenance documentation.
- Support safety protocols, quality standards, and ongoing process improvements in maintenance operations.
Requirements
- Vocational training in an electro-technical discipline, such as polymechanic, automation technician, or electromechanical technician.
- Demonstrated interest in aviation and complex technical systems.
- Good technical English proficiency or a strong willingness to improve this skill.
- Fluency in French or German; knowledge of a second national language is advantageous.
- Valid Category B driver's license.
- Reliable, precise, and team-oriented approach with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Swiss citizenship, required due to the military and air force nature of the role.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in aviation or military jet maintenance, including EASA Part-66 modules or B1/B2 licenses.
- Familiarity with SAP or other IT management systems.
