Destinusgroup in Payerne, CH, seeks a mid-level Mechanical & Electrical Technician to support assembly, integration, and testing of aerospace systems, including propulsion and pyrotechnic components. The role requires hands-on skills in both mechanical and electrical domains, with strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
This role supports the assembly, integration, and testing of mechanical and electrical systems for aerospace applications, including safety devices, pyrotechnic assemblies, and propulsion systems. It requires precision workmanship, strong documentation practices, and experience handling hazardous materials in a safety-critical environment. The ideal candidate is equally skilled with mechanical tools and electrical equipment, and understands that quality stems from disciplined processes and rigorous safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and integrate mechanical and electrical parts for mechanisms, safety systems, pyrotechnic components, and propulsion units.
- Install and solder wiring harnesses, sensors, initiators, and electronics to aerospace-grade standards.
- Carry out quality inspections and functional tests to ensure assemblies meet engineering specifications.
- Handle energetic and hazardous materials following safety protocols, permits, and operating procedures.
- Develop, maintain, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for assembly, integration, and testing to ensure safety and consistency.
- Perform mechanical testing and validation, accurately recording results and reporting any deviations.
- Assist in troubleshooting and corrective actions with engineering and QA teams.
- Help improve assembly workflows while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Apprenticeship or degree in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics technology.
- Proven hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Skilled in cable harnessing, soldering, and high-integrity electrical installations.
- Experience or willingness to work with energetic, pyrotechnic, or hazardous materials; knowledge of safety regulations is beneficial.
- Background in quality control, functional testing, and documentation in production or engineering settings.
- Ability to write and follow SOPs in a detail-oriented, safety-critical environment.
- High attention to detail and a systematic, disciplined approach to assembly and testing.
- Fluency in English required; German is an advantage.

- Familiarity with safety requirements for energetic, pyrotechnic, or hazardous materials.
- Proficiency in German.
