Destinusgroup in Zürich seeks a Mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer to design high-precision systems for advanced aerospace and defense UAVs. The role requires CAD proficiency, mechanical design experience, and collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
This position supports Destinusgroup’s mission to advance defense technology through cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The engineer will contribute to designing precision mechanical systems for mission-critical applications, working with government and defense partners globally.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings using Siemens NX or similar tools
- Apply mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals to develop reliable systems
- Use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure design accuracy
- Incorporate design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) practices
- Work with PLM systems such as TeamCenter for design management
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to support project goals
- Manage time efficiently to handle multiple projects concurrently
- Produce clear technical documentation for design and production
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, or technician qualification with relevant experience
- Minimum 3 years of design experience in aerospace or military sectors
- Focus on design performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
- Experience coordinating with suppliers and managing product life cycles
- Knowledge of metallic and non-metallic materials used in engineering
