Flight Test Engineer

Destinusgroup in Zürich, CH, seeks a Mid-level Flight Test Engineer to support the development and testing of advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The role involves planning and executing flight tests, analyzing data, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams to advance UAV technology for defense applications.

This position supports the transformation of cutting-edge UAV technology from concept to operational use, within a fast-paced environment focused on solving real-world challenges. Responsibilities

• Assist engineering teams in shaping flight test requests, turning technical goals into structured and efficient test campaigns
• Plan and manage flight test operations, prioritizing safety through thorough hazard identification and risk mitigation
• Specify data collection needs and help design reliable testing and measurement systems
• Conduct flight tests at various European sites, working directly with advanced aerospace systems in dynamic settings
• Review flight data, extract key insights, and produce clear reports that support technical decisions and system enhancements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, operations, and program management to speed up development and improve testing efficiency

Requirements

• Prior experience as a Flight Test Engineer, preferably in unmanned aerial systems or aerospace projects
• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Solid knowledge of flight testing methods, safety evaluations, and campaign execution
• Practical experience with data acquisition systems and data analysis tools
• Hands-on engineering approach with adaptability in fast-changing test environments
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities to manage multiple teams and priorities
• Willingness to travel internationally and participate in on-site flight test operations across Europe
