QA Automation Engineer

Air Apps is seeking a Mid-level QA Automation Engineer in Zürich to build and maintain automated test frameworks for web and mobile applications, ensuring high quality and reliability.

This position focuses on developing and sustaining automated testing solutions to guarantee application quality. The engineer partners with developers, product managers, and QA specialists to implement testing strategies, expand coverage, and improve efficiency, directly influencing the stability and performance of web and mobile products.

Responsibilities

• Design and sustain automated testing frameworks for web and mobile platforms.
• Develop and run automated regression, functional, performance, and API tests.
• Embed automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
• Partner with development teams to ensure feature testability and catch defects early.
• Review test outcomes, debug failures, and communicate issues to developers.
• Expand test coverage by spotting critical scenarios and edge cases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality standards and best practices.
• Keep current with new automation tools, frameworks, and testing methodologies.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in test automation development.
• Proficiency with test automation frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or Playwright.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with API testing using tools like Postman or REST Assured.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Experience with version control systems like Git and test management tools like TestRail or Zephyr.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, SDLC, and agile methodologies.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of performance and load testing tools like JMeter or Gatling is a plus.
• Experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android is a plus.
