QA Engineer – Mobile Testing

Specialized Switzerland Retail GmbH seeks a Mid-level QA Engineer for mobile testing to ensure the quality of e-bike rider apps through manual and automated testing strategies on Android and iOS.

The SBC App Team within the Specialized Global Tech unit builds and supports mobile applications designed to improve the experience for e-bike riders. In this role, you will safeguard the functionality and quality of these apps by establishing and executing comprehensive mobile testing strategies that combine both manual and automated approaches.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate mobile app requirements and designs to determine testability.
• Create mobile-focused test plans and write test scripts alongside technical documentation.
• Design, build, and run manual and automated test cases for Android and iOS platforms using Katalon and Appium.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, smoke, and stress testing on physical devices and emulators.
• Work closely with developers, UX/UI designers, and product teams to fix issues and enhance app quality.
• Log, track, and manage mobile defects using the company's internal bug tracking system.
• Maintain the integrity of mobile test environments and ensure QA processes are strictly followed.
• Review ticket requirements, technical specs, and acceptance criteria to create and execute test cases during sprints.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for mobile apps with business users, UX/UI, and development teams.
• Analyze test results and clearly communicate outcomes to the wider team.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and testing.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android.
• Practical experience with Katalon Studio or Appium for test automation.
• Deep understanding of mobile QA processes, testing methodologies, and mobile testing tools.
• Experience using Xcode, Android Studio, and device/emulator-based testing.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, native mobile applications, and connected hardware integrations.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills in mobile contexts.
• Experience developing and documenting clear test plans and cases for mobile applications.
• Self-learner with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Atlassian Confluence and JIRA.

Nice to have

• Performance and security testing for mobile apps.
• Additional hands-on experience with other mobile automation frameworks (Espresso, XCTest, etc.).
